Start being proactive and get your MTD plan in place.
@xero is bloody useful. So is AI. We use technology every single day.
But having an expert in your corner who knows your business and knows your numbers is very hard to beat.
Learn the software. Understand your numbers.
Just don’t mistake being able to do the bookkeeping for having to do it all yourself.
PSA: Credit control works better when people feel they can actually talk to you!!
If a customer knows they’re going to struggle to pay, we’d much rather they told us early than went quiet out of embarrassment. 🤷♀️
The sooner you talk to us, the more options we’ve got. Silence helps absolutely no one. 🤫

Now, does their finance team pay on Fridays? Need a PO? Only process invoices twice a month? That stuff matters.
Good credit control is part chasing, part knowing how the people paying you actually work… have you talked through this with your bookkeeper yet? 💚

Xero reminders are brilliant for taking some of the chasing off your plate, but sometimes another email isn’t what’s going to get the invoice paid.
A quick call or personal message can tell you far more.
Maybe the invoice has gone to the wrong person. Maybe there’s a query nobody’s raised. Maybe they’re struggling with cashflow.
Automation has its place yes… but so does picking up the phone. 💚
